Privacy Collection Notice

THIS NOTICE IS REQUIRED TO BE PROVIDED TO ALL SPOUSES/PARTNERS (WHO ARE NOT JOINT APPLICANTS) OF INDIVIDUAL APPLICANTS (IN RELATION TO NON-BUSINESS RELATED FINANCE) USING THE CONTACT INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE INDIVIDUAL APPLICANT
This statement sets out how “we” or “us”, being Angle Auto Finance Pty Ltd (ACN 161 130 696) trading as Angle Auto Finance of Level 23, 400 George Street, Sydney, New South Wales, 2000 (Angle Auto Finance), collect, use, store and disclose your personal information as permitted under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act).
This notice is being provided to you because an individual that has recently applied for (or is in the process of applying for) finance from Angle Auto Finance (Applicant) has listed you as their spouse or de-facto partner.
Your information was provided to us by the Applicant’s authorised Introducer/Dealer/Broker (Introducer) who submitted the request for a quote or the application for finance to us.
If we do not collect this information about you, we may be unable to continue to arrange or provide finance to the Applicant or carry out the other purposes listed below (which may have an impact on the Applicant’s finance with Angle Auto Finance).
1. Personal information
We collect personal information about you from the Applicant and their Introducer, including:
- your name;
- your contact details including phone number, email address and postal address;
- your relationship to the Applicant; and
- records of your income and proof of your income or funds available (including bank statements, payslips, tax return documentation, business activity statements, letters of employment and other acceptable forms of proof of income or funds that we request or that you provide, but excluding your tax file number).
We collect, use and disclose your personal information for the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy (available at angleauto.com.au/privacy) and in particular:
- to assess your income and spending habits to help assess an Applicant’s ability to meet their repayment obligations;
- to arrange or provide credit to the Applicant (including to act on instructions and to administer and complete their application and transaction);
- to manage that credit (including to assess hardship applications and to collect overdue payments);
- to communicate with you in relation to your personal information that we have collected and to respond to your enquiries and resolve complaints and disputes (where relevant), which we may do via electronic means; and
- to comply with our regulatory or legal obligations, report to regulators and authorities and assess our legal compliance (including through external audits).
We may disclose your personal information to the parties described in our Privacy Policy and in particular to:
- our related entities and our service providers who assist us by, for example, by providing IT services and back-office management;
- persons you or the Applicant have authorised us to provide your information to (such as additional account holders or the Applicant’s authorised representatives);
- third parties that you or the Applicant have authorised to provide your information to us (such as Introducers and your current or previous employers in the case of employment checks);
- our insurance brokers, providers and consultants;
- our professional advisers and agents (including independent auditors, legal and tax advisers);
- retailers, brokers, aggregators or others who introduced you to us (including car dealerships and salary packaging providers) and these parties may use and disclose this information for their own marketing purposes;
- debt collection agencies and others that assist us with debt recovery in relation to any amounts the Applicant may owe to us;
- any third parties who acquire any rights or interests in any amounts or debts that the Applicant owes to us (including if we assign, transfer or novate the Applicant’s agreement with us); and
- state and federal government agencies, regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies or other persons as required or permitted by law.
2. Overseas disclosure
We may disclose your information to entities outside of Australia. These entities include our related entities and service providers located in the United States of America, the Philippines and India.
3. Disclosure to the Applicant’s Introducer
We may disclose personal information about you to the Applicant’s Introducer, including:
- if information relating to you is contained in the Applicant’s quote (if they obtain one) or their application;
- our assessment of the Applicant’s application for finance (including reasons for our decision), including if that relates to personal information about you; and
- if the Applicant’s application for finance is successful, all information we hold about you in connection to their finance contract (on an ongoing basis during the term of that contract) for the purposes of the Introducer’s administration of that finance contract.

- how you may seek to access or correct your personal information that is held by us;
- how you can complain about a breach of privacy law (including the Australian Privacy Principles) by us and how we will deal with such a complaint; and
- how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in more detail.
